How We Evaluate Offshore Sportsbooks
Payout Ledger scores only the offshore sportsbooks we recommend and partner with, so our published scores run from 4.7 to 5.0. Every score starts with what the sportsbook publishes on its own site, like its banking page, bonus terms and help center, checked against the criteria below. The final order and score are an editorial call made with those checks in hand. Sportsbooks we do not partner with are mentioned for comparison, but they are not scored or linked.
The Criteria and Their Weights
| Criterion | Weight | Required to score | What we look at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payout speed | 0.25 | yes | How long it takes to get your money, counted from the moment you ask, not from the moment the sportsbook approves it. We read each sportsbook's own banking page and note the review period plus the transfer time, with crypto first because that is how most US bettors get paid offshore. Same-day crypto scores best. |
| Bonus value and rollover | 0.2 | yes | What the welcome offer is actually worth once you read the rollover. A $1,000 match with a 10x rollover beats a $3,000 match with a 30x rollover for most players, because you can realistically clear it. We read the bonus terms on the sportsbook's own site and note the date we checked them, since offers change often. |
| Betting markets and games | 0.15 | yes | How much you can actually bet on: the number of sports, live in-game betting, props, parlays, futures and a racebook. For a casino, the size of the game library, the software providers and live dealer tables. We count what the sportsbook or casino lists on its own site. |
| Withdrawal limits and rules | 0.15 | yes | How much you can take out per week or per day, how often you can ask, and what has to happen first: rollover, holds after a deposit, or documents. A weekly cap tells you how long a real balance takes to come out, so it counts more than the maximum per transaction. We read the sportsbook's own terms and banking pages. |
| Mobile experience | 0.1 | no | How well the site works on a phone. A dedicated app or a progressive web app you can add to your home screen scores best, a responsive mobile site scores well, and a desktop site that only shrinks scores worst. We check what the sportsbook offers and how it describes it. |
| Withdrawal fees | 0.1 | no | What a withdrawal costs, by method. Free crypto payouts score best, and a fee table that is published in full scores better than one that says fees depend on the amount and never shows the number. We read the sportsbook's own fee and banking pages and note the date we checked them. |
| Customer support | 0.05 | no | How you reach a person when something goes wrong, and when. Live chat, phone and email around the clock score best. One channel around the clock scores well, and limited hours or email only score worst. We read the sportsbook's own contact and help pages. |
How a Score Is Built
For each criterion, we read the sportsbook's own pages and rate what we find from strong to weak against the description in the table. The weights show how much each check counts in our review. Our editors then set the order of the list and each score between 4.7 and 5.0. A sportsbook needs a documented source for each of the 4 required criteria (Payout speed, Bonus value and rollover, Betting markets and games, Withdrawal limits and rules) before we publish its score.
Payout speed and the welcome bonus carry the most weight because they decide how quickly your winnings reach you and how much the offer is really worth. Withdrawal limits and the betting menu come next.
How to Read a Score
Every sportsbook we score is one we recommend, which is why the scores sit close together. The score is our overall editorial view of the sportsbook, not a measure of any single check. It does not tell you which one fits you best: each review names what the sportsbook does best and its main trade-off, like slower payouts or a bonus that takes longer to clear.
Two sportsbooks with the same score can still be a very different fit. Read the payout rules on each card before you choose: if you plan to cash out every few days, the weekly limit will matter more to you than a tenth of a point.
Where the Facts Come From
The main source is the sportsbook itself: its banking pages, bonus terms, rules and help center. We note the date we checked each page, because offers and limits change often. Where a regulator or a dispute service has published something relevant, we cite it with a link.
How Often We Update
We recheck welcome offers first, since they change most often, and each card shows the date the offer was checked. Payout rules and limits are rechecked when a sportsbook changes its banking pages or when readers report a change.
